Thai Restaurant Business

Delivering Happy Thailand to the World!
Expanding with 4 brands in the Tokyo Metropolitan Area

We operate our restaurant business under four brand names: "Krung Siam," "Old Thailand," "Thai Street Food" and "Thai Food Laboratory." Each brand is distinguished by its location and interior design. For example, "Krung Siam" has a Western-style interior and is located in residential areas; "Old Thailand" has a traditional Thai house-style interior and can be found in business districts; "Thai Street Food" has a colorful street stall-style interior and is located in open spaces; and "Thai Food Laboratory," which started as a test kitchen, has an experimental interior and is location independent.
In our restaurant business, we opt not to pursue scale of profit, but rather opt to pursue the joy of our customers, business partners, the local community, our employees and everyone else involved. The principles we follow in our pursuit of joy are Quality, Service, Cleanlinesss, Hospitality and Atmosphere.

Since the opening of our first store in November 2004, we have been dedicated to offering authentic Thai cuisine prepared by expert chefs, along with friendly service and heartfelt hospitality that gives our guests the feeling of a meal at the home of a close friend or family member. We have focused on creating an exciting and culturally rich space, filled with scents that allow our guests to feel like they're on a trip to Thailand.Above all, we consider the deliciousness of the cuisine (Quality) to be the most important. Following the belief that "customers are not seeking change but evolution," we focus on improving ingredients, enhancing the skills of chefs and upgrading cooking equipment to make standard everyday meals delicious, rather than creating hit specialty meals. When it comes to ingredients, we diligently work on using fresh and safe Thai vegetables grown on our own farm, find producers who can provide better quality ingredients and procure only the ingredients needed for the day based on accurate daily customer forecasts.
Moreover, the preparations of many sauces and some products are done through intensive cooking at the central kitchen, Suusuu Factory. This is not done for efficiency in operations but rather to ensure stability and deliciousness. In our restaurant business, while first and foremost pursuing pleasure in cuisine, we also strive for joy in Quality (quality of cuisine), Service (service), Cleanliness (cleanliness), Hospitality (hospitality) and Atmosphere (atmosphere) as a whole product. We hope to contribute to the world by conveying the joy, kindness and brightness of Thailand and Thai people, and the excitement of traveling to Thailand through our vision and goal: Delivering Happy Thailand to the World!

Authentic Thai Taste

Thailand is broadly divided into four regions: the North, the Northeast, the Central region and the South, each of which has developed distinct and characteristic cuisines.
In the North, where the Lanna Dynasty flourished, dishes are characterized by a mild taste with a generous use of oil. The Northeast, influenced by Laos and Cambodia, is characterized by its spicy and salty dishes. The Central region, where the capital and major cities are located, features mild and sweet dishes. The South, surrounded by the sea, offers a variety of dishes using seafood.
Our Thai chefs carefully prepare representative dishes from each region. We use vegetables and herbs grown on our farm in Japan alongside rich ingredients imported from Thailand to deliver an authentic taste, just like what you would find in Thailand.

Northern Thailand

The main cities in the north are Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai. Characterized by a generous use of oil, dishes tend to have a mild flavor. Typical dishes include Gaeng Hang Lay (Myanmar-style pork curry) and Sai Ua (herbal sausage). These are traditional court dishes from the Lanna Dynasty that existed in the north up until the 19th century.

Northeastern Thailand

The main cities in the northeast are Khon Kaen and Korat. The cuisine is characterized by a strong spiciness and saltiness. The general cuisine of the northeast is called Isaan cuisine, and is strongly influenced by the flavors of Laos and Cambodia. Som Tum (green papaya salad), Larb (minced meat salad) and Gai Yang (charcoal grilled chicken) are seasoned, and meant to be eaten with sticky rice. They whet the appetite even in hot and humid weather.

Central Thailand

The main cities in central Thailand are Bangkok and Ayutthaya. The cuisine is characterized by a relatively mild and sweet taste, and has influences from all types of cuisine. It is commonly eaten with long-grain jasmine rice. There are street stalls everywhere, offering a variety of foods to enjoy. The abundance of rice flour noodles is influenced by the Chinese, as well as the court cuisine developed during the reign of King Rama V.

Southern Thailand

The main cities in the southern region are Hat Yai and Phuket. Surrounded by the sea, the cuisine is characterized by an abundance of seafood. Spices like turmeric are commonly used to eliminate fishy odors. Typical examples include Gaeng Tai Pla (curry made with fish innards), Gaeng Massaman (spicy yellow curry) and Khao Yam (rice salad).

Brand Development

Krung Siam

You can enjoy authentic Thai cuisine in a restaurant inspired by old Western-style buildings erected in early 20th century Bangkok. We have eight locations in the Tokyo metropolitan area, including Jiyugaoka, Oimachi and Roppongi.

Old Thailand

In an interior inspired by the aristocratic mansions built in late 19th-century during Thailand's enlightenment period, guests can enjoy authentic Thai cuisine in a calm atmosphere that exquisitely blends Eastern and Western cultures. We have three locations in Iidabashi, Shimbashi and Ichigaya.

Thai Food Laboratory

We want to make Thai cuisine even more delicious. With that in mind, we started a test kitchen in Komaba-Todaimae. The name and spirit were inherited as a restaurant, and we now offer authentic Thai cuisine at three locations in Shibuya, Shimokitazawa and Fuchu.

Thai Street Food

We have stores in Ikebukuro and Roppongi that are inspired by the colorful street stalls lining the bustling and vibrant streets of Thailand. You can enjoy delicious and authentic Thai cuisine prepared by our expert chefs at reasonable prices.
